"Evidence is an "encyclopaedic" novel, an online narrative motivated primarily by objects. It is based on a collection of found objects out of which I constructed a kind of mapping of a story that I never actually tell. Evidence is about amassing the knowledge that maps out a story. Imagine yourself constructing a story by gathering the evidence of a crime. Visually, the story-space, divided up into three components (object, text, and texture) recalls Deleuze's Baroque House. It is primarily through the textural elements that the project becomes layered, convoluted, losing the reader withing the folds of narrative cartography.

One of my current obsessions is with maps or, more generally, with spatial representation and the ways in which a spatial approach creates and shapes a story. I see the found objects in Evidence as extended in time, their mapping as telling a story, or bits of interlocking stories. In this case, the "map" exists as a kind of shifting knowledge. This project requires alternating passive and active involvement from the reader. Don't click too quickly or you may miss something important; wait too long and you may hit a dead end."
