....a white series of notational seeded test bodies...
Munging: /muhnj/
1. A transitional term meaning to imperfectly transform information. 2.
A comprehensive rewrite of a routine, data structure or the whole program.
word date(02 Dec 1994)
-the name for this series, is derived from a computer process, designating
the change of a complex set of ideas or data.
Inspired by digital processes, I take aspects of the body apart and
put it back together again. Splitting the self into a kind of coded language.
The body extends itself to architecture in anthropomorphic terms in the
installation.
motive...I think there is a tension in the work -- in the weakness associated
with "the body's" inevitable aging process as well as dis-ease
and a relief that I am able to achieve with the computer even only through
appearance, re-empowering in effect, in fact, re-growing aspects of self.
decode: The work is presented in several ways; it's available on the
Internet for interactive "growth", viewed in architectural space
by video/data projector, and also hung in standardized alluminum tiles within
the architecture of a space, precisely structured emo-puncted listings,
nostalgic, heiroglyphic fleshed out seeded predatory gardens.
The viewer is invited to participate in a game of one code to the other,
...signs, messaging the relationship of the images....to the viewer (what
you decode may say about you), often the skin sources are readily benign.
