~ Colleen Flanigan shared an up-date on her participation in projects to help save ocean coral reefs: Karang Lestari, Biorock, and the Community Crocheted Coral Reef. She thanks those that attended the film screening of "Reef Reborn," and supporting coral reef restoration in Pemuteran, Bali. To those of you who contributed to the community coral reef, after it's 3-month display at Gossamer Fiber Arts, it was admired by thousand's at Oregon Museum of Science & Industry from Feb-May 3, 2009. We are currently seeking its next evolution. Envisioning more movie screenings, more crocheted corals, and a larger art/science exhibit that integrates video, lighting, aerial performance with metal "Biorock" structures, photos and more to raise awareness and empathy for the oceans and all life. We have a few leads. We encourage anyone to suggest venues, collaborators and opportunities for an exhibit, event, or screening. Rose Sabel-Dodge of Gossamer is continuing to creatively craft installations with the local community.
