ARTIST STATEMENT

These works are a triptych of stills from a digital animation entitled "Reteach a Thing its Loveliness." In the making of this short film, I was inspired by the enigma of life--how a thing comes into being, how it lives out its duration, and what it becomes afterwards. The animation is an evolving display of abstract forms suggesting variously neuro-scientific brain imagery, cellular division, flowers blooming, animals unfolding, and other natural phenomena.
