Art, Science and Business Program, Akademie Schloss Solitude

ASCI Spotlight July 2004

schloss

The program for art, science and business fellows

The Akademie offers emerging scientists and managers the opportunity to develop collaborative projects with artists in a unique physical and intellectual setting. The proximity to people working in "other" fields, the focus that comes with a secluded location and the Akademie's infrastructure all offer excellent conditions for such collaborations. An artistic environment - artists often being "seismographs" of societal and technological developments - enhances every form of prospective thinking.

The interaction between people from different backgrounds and the transfer of experience and knowledge between the various disciplines are the basis for synergies of artistic creativity, technological invention and management. Fostering opportunities for high quality communication is therefore a fundamental value of the program. The Akademie will function as an external office/laboratory; a place where its guests are part of a network and can experience new inspiration for their work. The flexible, unregimented use of time inherent in the creative work process encourages the individual development and the realization of new models of thought. The projects of science and business fellows will be realized in a flexible time setting - as workshops, symposiums or extended stays.
