Artist Statement:
As a classically trained artist, I find the computer, stylus and tablet completely liberating. The spontaneity, precision, extraordinary detail, and layering attributes all encourage an intensely personal type of creation, which in my case seeks new inventions of beauty. Working on the computer teaches the artist anew, about the mathematical resolution of beautiful form. Many of my works feature a circular structure. A circle is its own engine. It’s static, but suggests movement at the same time. It can wildly assert itself, but not without vibrating at some level, the sanity of its basic form. Again, this is the beautiful mathematical expression in the heart of natural forms. Even in summoning up a dark expression, the circle is somehow inevitably Jovian. I want people to look at my art and confirm their own secret beauty. I want to invent forms that will remind viewers to invent themselves and constantly.
