Artist Statement:
I am using digital technology to describe nature: illusive landscapes of water, light and color. With a camera to record the luminous, textural and fluid qualities of nature, I create a memory of my encounter in the wild. Back in my studio, I enter the visual data into my computer where it is saved in exquisite digital space. Here, I work with nature's synthetic self. I can make water as blue or black, as opaque, transparent or reflective to simulate the experience of immersion in nature while maintaining the image's natural quality and intensifying its visual impact. I'm pursuing an image that sustains the memory of nature. This digitally created memory which is the essence of my work, is what is exquisite in my work.
