Eleni Mylonais




Abbreviated Bio

With a background in journalism from Columbia University, Eleni Mylonas is a photographer and multi-media artist sharing her time between New York and Athens.

She has widely exhibited in Europe and in New York City, with one person shows at PS1, Art Resources Transfer, and the Foundation for Hellenic Culture.  Her artwork has also been included in group shows at the Queens Museum of Art, Tweed Museum of Art, University of Richmond Museum, Rutgers Camden Center for the Arts, Berkshire Community College, and The Cooper Union, NYC.

Additionally, her work is part of many private and public collections including the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, Australia; The Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art; Athens Museum of Natural History; and Athens College. Several of her large Cibachromes from her "Journey through Ellis Island" series are on permanent display at the Ellis Island Museum in New York.  

She has also taught at the New School, NYC, and been invited to talk about her work at many venues, among them The New York Studio School Artist Lecture series, SUNY Albany, and the Professional Women Photographers association.  She is currently represented by the Ileana Tounta Gallery in Athens.
