~ Robbin Oppenheimer is a full-time 3rd-year Ph.D. student at Simon Fraser University in the School of Interactive Arts and Technology. She just secured a part-time faculty position at the University of Washington's Bothell campus, where I'm designing a new undergraduate course in the fall on creative collaboration between the arts and sciences for the Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences program. She's also be presenting a paper on West Coast 1960's light shows on a panel about the 60s counterculture and the arts at the College Art Association conference in LA in February 2009. She recently presented a paper in Berlin at the Re:place conference about the collaborations between the artists and engineers in the historical "9 Evenings: Theatre and Engineering" performances that will be published next year, and which is also the subject of her Ph.D. dissertation.

- Jim Pallas was commissioned this winter by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums to make six sculptures that would encourage visitors to make donations that will be used to support activities that improve wild amphibian habitats.
