Sam Yanes

Sam Yanes is a New York-based strategic communications consultant. He has worked as a corporate communications executive, Deputy Director of The Jewish Museum in New York, educational publisher and author, and communications consultant to numerous profit and not-for-profit institutions. He is also the founder of the Institute for Cultural Practice, a Boston-based research center for the arts designed to advance the effectiveness of cultural institutions in society. Prior to founding the Institute in 1997, Yanes was Vice President of Corporate Communications at Polaroid Corporation, managing this function for the company for 15 years. He has served on numerous Boards and Commissions as Commissioner of the National Museum of American Art, Smithsonian Institution; trustee and President of the Board of the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston; a member of the Board of Fellows of the Center for Creative Photography, University of Arizona; Trustee of Grantmakers in the Arts; and a member of the Advisory Board for Journalism at Brandeis University. He is the author of three books on education and American lifestyles published by Dell/Seymour Lawrence, Harper and Row, and Praeger Publishers.
