Artist Statement:

I'm fascinated by the elation generated by form and shape; by the combination of light and mathematics; and by whacky analogs of quantum physics. In the mid-nineties, in conjunction with a need to investigate light for my work in photography, I began a survey of physics that led to these works. The first images came from a notion that particles are "hooked" to each other and positioned in space-time by forces that other particles exert (in some ways, the particles themselves can be thought of as forces). I made these works during the five-year period starting in 1997. They were created on computers using a combination of commercially available and proprietary software.
