"N
is for Non-Locality," 11" x 14", Photographically
printed from digital file, 2002
Artist Statement:
I was asked to create something for an exhibit where every
artist had to create something related to a specific letter of the alphabet.
Given my long-term interest in quantum physics, particularly the more
paradoxical aspects of it, I decided to try to visualize the nature
of non-locality. This was and remains a knotty problem for scientists
from Bohr to Einstein to Bohm to Bell, and the philosophers who continue
to struggle with it. One related aspect includes a kind of universal
interconnectivity, which influenced the creative process on this image.
