What is ASCI’s mission?
The purpose of Art & Science Collaborations, Inc. (ASCI) is to raise public awareness about artists and scientists using science and technology to explore new forms of creative expression, and to increase communication and collaborations between these fields.

How does ASCI accomplish its mission?
ASCI's services [see "About" in left-hand column] provide its members with the tools they need to be well informed, to find collaborators, create partnerships, and sieze the timely opportunities occuring in the global art-sci-tech field. ASCI's director advises and makes referrals to institutions, organizations, artists, and funders about creating art-sci programming and developing their projects. [Please view the Projects Archive on the left navigation bar.] The ASCI ebulletin promotes the work of the individuals and projects that are shaping this new multi-disciplinary field. ASCI’s website provides a rich research archive and virtual platform for dialogue between members and/or the web-surfing public that is discovering this field for the first time. Members' works and "Projects- from-the-Field" are featured at the ASCI website, thus dramatically increasing their exposure to new audiences.

What is ASCI's track-record?
Founded in 1988, ASCI is a grassroots organization based in NYC with global membership of about 400 members [and growing!]. It was one of the earliest art-sci-tech member organizations in the United States, and first in NYC. As a "virtual" organization, ASCI has produced public programming for highly recognized NYC area institutions such as: The New York Hall of Science, Liberty Science Center, The Cooper Union, The CUNY Graduate Center, and the American Museum of Natural History, among others. Most recently, with its ArtSci Symposium on Collaboration, it has partnered with prestigious international organizations such as: The Arts Council of England; the Australian Network for Art & Technology; The Banff New Media Institute, Canada; Leonardo/ISAST; The SMARTlab Centre, London; and the Design/Media Department at UCLA.

Who is ASCI?
ASCI is lead by Founder and Director, Cynthia Pannucci. Cynthia was a practicing visual artist for 27 years untill 1997 when she decided to focus solely on ASCI's development. She is responsible for the development of ASCI's events, projects, programs, and partnerships.
ASCI’s Board of Directors & Advisory Board consists of experienced professionals in the fields of art and science that guide ASCI's long and short-term objectives.
ASCI's Members demonstrate the broad scope of the art-sci intersection: from video, multimedia, digital art, sculpture, interactive, sound, performance, and net art, to light art, kinetic sculpture and beyond; plus those artists, scientists and technologists collaborating on research, exhibition, performance and other types of projects. Why should I join?
If you are an artist, scientist, technologist, writer, curator, producer, professor, teacher, funder or just curious about the intersection of art, science and technology, the ASCI community is the place for you. Our comprehensive, monthly ASCI ebulletin, is the premiere, hyperlinked, information listing that will save you time keeping up-to-date with what's happening and the opportunities in this rapidly expanding, multidisciplinary field. Are there exhibition opportunities at ASCI?
ASCI has organized many shows in the past: on kinetic art, light art, a multi-media show called WOMENTEK, and our annual digital print exhibition (a couple of our print shows are available to travel). [see "exhibitions" under "Project Archive"] We are always interested in finding new venues and assisting curators with finding new talent via the ASCI Membership.

How can I volunteer for or partner with ASCI?
ASCI always has need for volunteer services: online marketing (Social Media), Board development, promotions, web-design, and database research.
