Digital Arts, Assistant Professor, Tenure Track
The University of Minnesota Duluth is seeking applications from qualified individuals for a tenure-track appointment in Digital Arts beginning August 29, 2010.
Ongoing professional creative activity, contributions to university and community service, various committee assignments and undergraduate academic advising are expected.
Essential qualifications:
• MFA degree in Digital Arts, Art or a related field by 8/29/10.
• Related fields can include: Electronic Arts, Time Arts, New Media and Studio Arts.
• An exhibition record/public viewing of work
• Familiarity with appropriate technologies and the historical, theoretical and critical aspects of the discipline.
• One year of experience teaching digitally-based art courses at the college level. (Graduate TA experience is acceptable).
Preferred qualifications :
• Experience beyond TA experience teaching digitally-based art courses at the college level.
• Familiarity with web-based instruction technology and methods.
• Familiarity with broader contemporary art and design issues.
Appointment will be at the rank of assistant professor. Salary will be based on experience and qualifications.

A completed application includes: letter of application reflecting skills and experience related to the position; curriculum vitae/professional resume; syllabi from classes previously taught; three letters of reference; unofficial transcripts (official transcripts required from finalists); examples of personal work representing the candidate's current design practice as well as examples of student work on a Mac-formatted CD/DVD.
