ARTIST-SCIENTIST STATEMENT
Though I am a Developmental Biologist, I actually think of myself as an artist. Science, for me, is just another medium. When I paint or sketch artwork, I try to express my ideas on the canvas. Similarly, I use images of embryos to express my thoughts in scientific presentations. In a way, I’m very fortunate to be a scientist because I can use microscopes and other scientific equipment to convey my ideas. My work captures the intricate beauty of each individual cell of the zebrafish embryo one micron at a time.
