ARTIST STATEMENT
Most recently, I was a researcher at the Center for Complex Network Research, Dept. of Physics, University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Indiana, from which this work sprang. One of the most well known cliché’s is that everything is connected. Unfortunately, this does not answer an interesting question. It is not if we are connected, but how. In this work I show three visualizations built from medical records, international trade data and mobile phone communications. All of them are spin offs of figures produced for scientific publications in which we show the relevance of the structures defined by the specific set of connections. Can you figure which one is which? WEBSITE: http://www.nd.edu/~chidalgo
